Wellness Mobile Dental Care is committed to providing safe care to all of our patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our staff have booster vaccinations to ensure the protection from our first doses is longer lasting and stronger. Our standards for safety and quality of care are the same as those for fixed dental clinics which are set in accordance with the Australian Dental Association's (ADA) Policy Statement of the delivery of oral health care by mobile dental service providers. We are also limiting travel to places where we are able to operate within the enhanced infection control guidelines recommended by the ADA. BOOKING FOR AN APPOINTMENT When we confirm your appointment, we will ask the following COVID-19 screening questions:
Have you had any contact with a known/suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days?
Have you had any COVID-19 symptoms (e.g. fever, dry cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell, aches and pains, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, a rash on the fingers or toes, shortness of breath, chest pain) in the past 14 days?
Have you been interstate, overseas or visited a COVID exposure site in the past 14 days?
We ask that you call to reschedule your appointment if you can answer yes to any of the above questions.
If you have access to a thermometer, we request that you check your temperature before your appointment to ensure that it is less than 37.5°C.
ONE WEEK and ONE DAY PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT We shall give you a call one week and one day prior to your dental appointment for reminder of our dental visit and ensure that circumstances have not changed. Please advise us otherwise.
ON YOUR APPOINTMENT We require 15-20 minutes to set up our clinical area at your location. We will ask the COVID-19 screening questions. We will check your temperature with an infra-red thermometer. If your temperature is above 37.5°C, we will need to reschedule the appointment and you will be advised to get a COVID-19 test. If you are well and able to proceed with your dental appointment, please scan our QR code. We shall record the details of any people who attend with you. Patients will be asked to rinse mouth before oral health assessment. If you are unable to rinse, we will do a swab of the mouth with the mouth wash. It is essential to leave patient alone during the appointment to prevent cross infection of dental hygiene appointment that is an aerosol or droplet generating procedure. Patients at RACF will NOT be seen in their own rooms to assist with maintaining infection control. We will arrange for patients to be seen in a clean treatment room. There will also be restrictions on certain services based on an individual risk assessment as well as recommendations by the ADA.
OTHER INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES Our staff have a temperature test every morning and are not permitted to come to work if they have any COVID-like symptoms. We wear our PPE (personal protective equipment) during appointment. We wear masks even in non-clinical areas. We allot sufficient time between appointments for cleaning our clinical area. Hand sanitiser is made available for use of patients. We bring our own working table to reduce surfaces which could harbour virus particles.
